| Breaking News | | Friday, October 7th, 2033: López Strokes 3 HR Against Detroit Three home runs in a game doesn't happen often.
When it does it is something special to celebrate.
And Albert López of Boston can celebrate it.
He is now a member of the select group of players, who have hit three home runs in a single game. He powered three into the stands today at Fenway Park against the Detroit Tigers.
In all he was 3-4 as the Red Sox toppled Detroit 6-2, knocking in 5 runs and scoring 3 times.
López told reporters after the game, "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run. Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today I tried on the last one."
His manager added, "He is blessed with a natural home run swing. He gets the ball up in the air."
A. López struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off E. Gonzáles in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off E. Gonzáles in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off J. McKinney in the 8th.
