Sunday, October 2nd, 2033: Lynch Misses Time with Day-to-Day Injury
Pittsburgh team officials speculated whether star starting pitcher Mark Lynch would be scratched from today's ballgame after he suffered a tender elbow in yesterday's matchup with the Brooklyn Cyclones. Lynch denied reports that he would miss a lot of time, but added that he would not risk further injury by playing.

Currently Lynch has a 14-8 won-lost record in 32 starts with a 2.02 ERA. He also has 248 strikeouts in 205.1 innings.
Wednesday, September 14th, 2033: Webb Cracks 5 Hits
Carl Webb really did a number on the Pirates in the Atlanta 18-7 victory. Not just anyone can get 5 hits in 5 at-bats. But Carl Webb did just that today for the Braves and gave his batting average a healthy boost and sparked his club in the win.

"I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 25-year-old left fielder said after his record-setting performance.

C. Webb hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off T. Guevara in the 5th, hit a three-run double in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off P. Pasillas in the 7th and walked in the 8th.

To date this season Webb is hitting .274 with 37 home runs.
Friday, September 9th, 2033: Petty Shuts out Pirates
In a knockout performance, Douglas Petty beat the Pirates 4-0 with an impressive 3-hit shutout.

The Cyclones hurler finished with 5 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.

Petty told reporters after the game, "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working... it don't get any better than this."

The Pirates manager said, "It was a rough one for my guys. We weren't at our best... and their guy was."

In 2033 Petty has compiled a 8-15 mark with a 5.85 ERA.
