On top of the Henderson hit parade today was David Martínez. He went to the plate 5 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Rumble to a 11-0 victory over the Elmore Grizzlies. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-5 performance.
The sweet swinging catcher told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
The skipper of the Grizzlies wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."

After his 4-0 shutout win against the Vikings, Iván Ortíz said, "I went out there to try and eat up innings and help out our bullpen. I felt I had my good stuff... and it turned out my command was solid and my breaking balls were good."
