| Breaking News | | Saturday, November 12th, 2033: Atlanta Stopper Takes Roger Clemens Award The Roger Clemens Award for 2033 has been presented and the National winner is Pedro Hernández of Atlanta.
"I pretty much expected it, but it's always nice to receive an award like this," said Hernández. "I just hope I'm able to do it again and improve on my performance," the Braves star told reporters. "I'm 21 and have time to win it again."
Hernández excelled with an impressive 20-9 record in 39 starts. In 241.1 innings he yielded 207 hits and 48 walks, while striking out 276 and compiling a fine 2.87 ERA. | | Friday, October 7th, 2033: Romero Smacks 5 Hits for Brewers On top of the Milwaukee hit parade today was Júlio Romero. He went to the plate 6 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Brewers to a 10-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-6 performance.
The sweet swinging catcher told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
The skipper of the Braves wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
J. Romero singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off N. Rew in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
Romero is hitting .320 this season with 40 home runs, 124 RBIs and 114 runs scored. He has 190 hits in 594 at-bats. | _Mets.png) | Saturday, October 1st, 2033: Braves Chill Coleman's Hot Streak Willie Coleman, center fielder for the New York (N) Mets, gave it a good try, but his day in history finally came to an end, when he went hitless in 5 tries against the Atlanta Braves. Not only had they stopped his 24-game hitting streak, they had beaten New York (N) 7-4, too.
Speaking with the media after the game, Coleman said, "Now that the streak has ended, I admit I will breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat. It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
This year Coleman has hit 8 home runs and posted a .363 batting average. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 91-71, .562 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 48-33, .593 PCT | | Record on the road | 43-38, .531 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 8-7, .533 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 29-19, .604 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 21-22, .488 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 70-49, .588 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 12-11, .522 PCT | | Record in May | 19-10, .655 PCT | | Record in June | 12-15, .444 PCT | | Record in July | 14-12, .538 PCT | | Record in August | 19-10, .655 PCT | | Record in September | 13-13, .500 PCT | | Record in October | 2-0, 1.000 PCT |
